Here are our babies... weeks away from turning ONE year old! Where in the world did the year go? I am so blessed to call these girls mine (well one is mine, one is my special niece) but I couldn't love them more!

Kylee's 3rd birthday ~part one

On May 1st, we are taking Kylee to one of her favorite places ~Adventure City. This little theme park is so cute for little ones. Even though we get through the WHOLE park within a few hours, there is hardly anyone there, it is clean, and she can ride on most all the rides.

We decided to have her birthday party here on Saturday. I took her to the park to shoot some pics for her invitations.

A great birthday present!

This weekend, the girls received their birthday present from their Granny and Papa. It came in 5 boxes, had over 1800 parts, and took over 12 hours to put together. Our backyard was turned from a plain yard into an awesome "park" (as Kylee called it) for the girls. They got their very own swingset! It is not only huge and fun for the girls, but it is so beautiful in our yard. I just love it and feel so lucky and blessed to have two people in our lives who love us and our girls so much to go to such effort and buy such a nice gift for the girls. Ever since they brought it over in the boxes, Kylee has been just so anxious for it to be put together. The builders (yes, builders had to be hired to put this enormous toyset together) came over on Saturday morning and spent 7 hours and left with 3/4 of it done. Kylee was just bursting. She kept asking, is it ready yet?
The next day, we went to church and then ran some errands just to keep her busy enough so when we got back home, she would be able to play all day! That is exactly what she did. The men came over at 8:30 and had it built by noon. Boy were the girls excited! They played nonstop from 12-4, took a half hour nap and then went back outside. I think that this is certainly the best gift a kid can get. Kylee said she wants everyone to come and play at her park with her.
Thank you so much, Larry and Joann, for such a wonderful gift that will last forever not only in our yard but in their hearts as well! We love you.

The most beautiful woman

There is a special woman I know who means so much to so many people, especially my family. We love her so much! Every Sunday, she greets us with hugs, smiles, and words of encouragement. On Tuesdays, we are always blessed with a handwritten card with beautiful words saying that she is praying for us. We can't ask for a better friend in Jesus. She is so beautiful on the inside and out! She dresses for every season, Kevin is usually the first one to notice her sweater or earrings. Kylee loves her pedicures, and I love her handbags. She is always interested in knowing how we are doing, feeling, and what we need prayer for during the week. I can't express how much I love this woman. I feel like she is part of my family. I know God has brought her in my life for a reason and I am so glad that He did. I love you, Jean.

Sunday morning in Paris

I love Sunday mornings. Listening to the Word, hanging out with family, and then eating in Paris. Well, not really. I don't even know the name of this restaurant. All I know is that I love everything about it. I love the way it looks, how it is always NOT busy when we are there (this is great because the kiddos get a little bit loud sometimes), and the food is yummy. Whether we are craving sweet or savory, it ALWAYS hits the spot for all who are there. What a nice way to spend Sunday mornings. I love that we get to spend this time together. I love you guys.

The Best Day Ever

On Tuesday, April 13, Kevin and I took Kylee to her first dance class. We had been talking about this big day ever since she was born. (Well it is more my thing than Kevin's but he is a good sport!) For about a month, I had been asking around, looking at studios, and I even posted about it on Facebook. Boy was I taking this seriously. After careful consideration and prayer, we decided to take Kylee to a trial lesson at the Dance Place in Whittier. From the second we walked through the door, we felt so welcomed, comfortable, and seriously I was bursting with JOY. The entire 45 minutes I was on cloud 9. The staff and parents were SO super friendly and they even understood how obsessed I was with the fact that we were there... This was really a huge highlight of my few years of being a parent.

The post is titled The Best Day Ever because that is what Kylee said when she was finished with the class. Let me rewind a bit...

After we decided on a studio, we took Kylee to buy her first dance apparel. This involved 35 minutes just deciding on a leotard. We also bought her ballet slippers and tap shoes. Since that day, she insisted on wearing her tap shoes EVERY DAY around the house, clothed or not...

Once Tuesday came, my mom graciously got my little ballerina all ready, bun in her hair with her tutu and tights on. When I walked through the door to see her ready, I honestly was so emotional. It was my turn to watch my baby girl do something that I loved as a child. She couldn't stop talking about it all the way to the studio ( 5 minutes away).

Once we were there, she made friends with the adorable little girls who are also part of the class, and was a bit shy at first. Once the teacher came in and put on the music, she did such a great job.

I was staring at her through the window (which I hogged from the other moms ~ I am grateful for such an understanding group of women). I couldn't stay there too long because every time she would circle around and see me she would shout "Hi MAMA!" She did such a wonderful job and loved the class.

The teacher even gave her stickers, fruit snack, and a dance bag to top it off!

I sincerely hope this is the beginning of an activity that Kylee will love and that we can share together.

Angels Opening Day ~ Kylee's first game!

On Monday, April 5th, Kevin and I took Kylee to her first Angels game. She LOVED it. We took her without Reagan and spent some quality time with our little love. She enjoyed the night so much! From the fireworks to the licorice, I think her favorite part was getting the free magnent when we walked through the gate. She loved when something good happened in the game and everyone clapped. She stood up and clapped right along with the crowd. I think Kevin was very pleased with this event; he now has a fan to take with him to the game.

She loved to clap when everyone else did. Except sometimes she would cheer for the Dodgers. I am pretty sure Uncle D had something to do with it!

Our seats are excellent! Diamond Club, padded seats, and we even get to order food right from our seats... no waiting in line!
